A University of Arizona law school student and beauty queen has been indicted on charges that say she and three others held her former boyfriend captive for 10 hours while torturing and robbing him.

Kumari Fulbright, a law clerk for U.S. District Court Judge Raner Collins, was indicted Dec. 18 on five felony charges – armed robbery, aggravated robbery, kidnapping and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

According to court documents, Fulbright and three men used plastic cable ties and duct tape to tie up a 24-year-old man.

(Fulbright) specifically bit him several times while he was bound, stuck a butcher knife in his ear and said she was going to kill him, pointed a pistol at him,” the documents state.

Just as the trooper approached the house, an electrical transformer blew out, an explosion caused by a squirrel, which was electrocuted. The trooper thought it was a gunshot and called in the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's SWAT team, Haines said.

Negotiators were not able to make phone contact with Hatcher, so the SWAT team entered through the front door, which had been left open. Hatcher was taken into custody without incident and transported to Santa Rosa County Jail. His bond was set at $900.

About 4:30 a.m. Friday, Mission police officers pulled over an off-white Mitsubishi with a trunk full of Christmas decorations. The three occupants of the vehicle told police they had stolen the property, said Lt. Martin Garza, a spokesman for Mission police.

Officers arrested Sabrina Marie Ochoa, 18, Andres Guaracha, 17, and Ismael Garcia, 19, all of Palmview. The trio remained in police custody late Friday and are expected to be arraigned today on six counts of misdemeanor theft, Garza said.

In Guaracha’s mug shot, he wears a black strapless top, a blonde wig and makeup, including eyeliner, blush and lipstick. Garcia, also wearing makeup, is dressed less revealingly in a sweatshirt and sports a wig with jet-black locks flowing down to the middle of his back. The trio told police they started stealing the decorations after a night at a club, Garza said.

Clad in high heels, the two men sneaked across lawns, taking inflatable snow globes, lighted wire reindeer and Santa Claus statuettes. A resident near the intersection of 3 Mile Line and Inspiration Road eventually called police to report suspicious noises, and officers made the traffic stop as a result.

College students, including young women, are far more accepting of pornography than their parents, a shift that might be related to easy access to porn on the Internet, a study reports today.

Most young women in the study said they personally did not use porn, but nearly half said viewing X-rated material was an acceptable way to express sexuality. Only 37% of the fathers and 20% of the mothers surveyed agreed.

The attitude of the young women and men in the study might be influenced by pornographic images that have proliferated on the Internet in the past 10 years, says Jeffrey Arnett, the editor of the Journal of Adolescent Research, which will publish the study in January.

A major porn producer, Vivid Entertainment, has sued the pornographic video-sharing site PornoTube, claiming that the site is profiting from the unauthorized posting of copyrighted material by users.

The porn industry has been severely wounded by the proliferation of free pornography sharing websites, which have caused DVD sales in the industry to tank over the past few years. While Vivid and others have done their best to harness the internet to their own advantage, competing against such readily available amateur and professional material has been difficult.

While Vivid is going to battle with PornoTube -one of a number of similar websites including YouPorn and Megarotic - over the site's failure to police the posting of copyrighted material by users, it's not just freely available professional pornography that is undercutting the sales of major producers. Amateur video has its own appeal to users, and the short-clip format is preferable for many to feature-length films.

Good riddance. I know the people at Vivid are fucking idiots. They'll have about as much luck with this as the record labels have had suing their own customers.
