White Teacher, Black Students

AP Wire | 03/28/2007 | S.C. teachers accused of sex with boys

The arrest of two women teachers on charges of having sex with their male students has brought cries of lingering racism in one of South Carolina's most conservative counties and evoked some of the South's oldest and deepest-seated racial taboos.

Both women are white. The boys - six in all - are black.

Some of the blacks who make up more than a quarter of Laurens County's 70,000 residents are upset over the handling of the two cases, particularly the release of the teachers on bail.

They say the cases reflect the way crimes by whites against blacks in the segregated South were treated less seriously than other offenses, and blacks who leveled accusations against whites were less likely to be believed.

"If this had been black teachers, they would not be out of jail right now," said Corinnie Young, a 49-year-old bookstore employee who is black.

Some blacks shudder to think what would have happened if the teachers were black men and the students were white girls.

"I can assure you if it were an African American male who committed such an offense against a white female, history shows us that the charges, the punishment and the sentencing would be totally different," said state NAACP president Lonnie Randolph. "The system ain't blind when the perpetrator is an African American male or female or when the victim is a white female."

Jerry Peace, the county prosecutor and a white man, said that the teachers are wearing electronic tracking devices and that their release on bail - $125,000 for one, $110,000 for the other - was based not on race, but on the danger to the community and the likelihood that the defendants might flee.

In any case, it would be unusual for someone accused of such a crime to be held without bail. Deborah Ahrens, a visiting professor of criminal law at the University of South Carolina, said of the bail amounts for the two teachers: "For the clients that I've represented in the past that were up for similar offenses, that sounds about right."

Signs of racial tension, old and new, are not hard to find in Laurens County. The school where one of the teachers worked used to be blacks-only. In the town of Laurens, where one of the teachers taught, an old movie theater has been converted into a Ku Klux Klan museum and paraphernalia store called The Redneck Shop. There, visitors can buy Confederate flags and bumper stickers, such as one that depicts three Klansmen and reads "The Original Boys in the Hood."

Textile mills were once the chief source of jobs in the working-class area about 60 miles northwest of the state capital of Columbia, but the industry went into decline in the 1990s. The main employers now include a maker of plastic coolers and Presbyterian College in Clinton. As of 2003, nearly 15 percent of county residents lived below the poverty line.

And as in many communities, most neighborhoods in the county are either black or white. People of different races find themselves side by side in one of two places: work or school.

Wendie Schweikert, a 37-year-old married woman who had been teaching elementary school in Laurens for more than a decade, was arrested last year after the mother of an 11-year-old boy accused her of having sex with the boy at school at least twice. Authorities said they found evidence bearing his DNA in her classroom. She is also accused of having sex with him in her car near a miniature golf course and arcade in Greenville, about 40 miles away.

Allenna Ward, a 24-year-old minister's daughter in her second year of teaching, was fired Feb. 28 after she was charged with having sex with at least five boys. Some of the alleged victims, 14 and 15 years old, were students at the middle school in Clinton where Ward taught. Police say Ward, who is married, had sex with the boys at the school, at a motel, in a park and behind a restaurant.

Attempts to contact the women in person and by telephone were unsuccessful, and their lawyers did not return repeated calls.

Black and white residents alike said they are shocked by the accusations. Many echoed the sentiments of Peggy Hawkins, a 50-year-old white resident. "Boys are boys and she done wrong," Hawkins said of one of the teachers.

The Rev. David Kennedy, a local black activist, is among those who see racism at work. He said the white teachers accused of preying on black students figured "they can do what they want to do with them and they know the consequences won't be great."

He suggested that blacks in town are too afraid to speak out: "There's a long history of intimidation and it's a sin. It's unholy in Laurens County to speak out."

Parents whose children go to E.B Morse Elementary School, where Schweikert taught, say they have trouble reconciling the accusations with the woman they knew.

"She was very involved," said Shea Mills, whose son attended the school. "I remember she would make kids pick paper up in the halls."

Bell Street Middle School Principal Maureen Tiller said Ward did well during an evaluation of her skills, and "personality-wise she seemed to be fine."

Nicole Sullivan, whose daughter went to Schweikert's school, said that when the case broke, students brought home notes saying the teacher had resigned. The notes did not explain why.

"I don't want to say it was a racial thing, but if it were a white victim and a black teacher, I think things would have been handled differently," said Sullivan, who is black.

Charges dropped in Mahopac against alleged goat painter

Charges dropped in Mahopac against alleged goat painter: "MAHOPAC - Criminal charges were dropped last night against a Mahopac man whom police charged last fall with animal cruelty and burglary for breaking into a barn and spray-painting three goats.

Drew Gagnon, 37, was arrested in November after police said he broke into the barn on Croton Falls Road early Thanksgiving morning and used orange spray paint on the genitals of the three goats owned by the Fiero family. Carmel police charged him with third-degree burglary, a felony, and three misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty.

In court last night, the goats' owner, Bryce Fiero, told Town Justice Joseph Spofford that he would withdraw the charges in exchange for Gagnon and his alleged accomplice, Douglas Bisio, 34, of Mahopac, making a donation to the Putnam Humane Society.

Bisio was charged with misdemeanor criminal facilitation for allegedly driving Gagnon to the barn.

Through their attorney, Christopher X. Maher, Gagnon and Bisio agreed to donate a total of $2,000 to the humane society and to stay off Fiero family property.

'My family and I just want to put this ordeal behind us and we believe that a donation to the Humane Society would be helpful,' Fiero said outside court. 'You try to forgive and forget. We may not forget this, but we will try to forgive.'

Boing Boing: MRI porn -- detailed coital anatomy pictures

Boing Boing: MRI porn -- detailed coital anatomy pictures: "Dutch researchers recruited several couples (including a pair of street acrobats) to have sex in an MRI. They produced highly detailed pictures of human anatomy during coitus, and found that Da Vinci's early illustrations of coitus in cross-section made some critical mistakes.

We did not foresee that the men would have more problems with sexual performance (maintaining their erection) than the women in the scanner. All the women had a complete sexual response, but they described their orgasm as superficial. Only the first couple was able to perform coitus adequately without sildenafil (experiments 1 and 2). The reason might be that they were the only participants in the real sense: involved in the research right from the beginning because of their scientific curiosity, knowledge of the body, and artistic commitment. And as amateur street acrobats they are trained and used to performing under stress."

Man: Ex' sex change should end alimony on Yahoo! News

Print Story: Man: Ex' sex change should end alimony on Yahoo! News

Lawrence Roach agreed to pay alimony to the woman he divorced, not the man she became after a sex change, his lawyers argued Tuesday in an effort to end the payments. But the ex-wife's attorneys said the operation doesn't alter the agreement.

The lawyers and Circuit Judge Jack R. St. Arnold agreed the case delves into relatively unchartered legal territory. They found only a 2004 Ohio case that addressed whether or not a transsexual could still collect alimony after a sex change.

"There is not a lot out there to help us," St. Arnold said.

Roach and his wife, Julia, divorced in 2004 after 18 years of marriage. The 48-year-old utility worker agreed to pay her $1,250 a month in alimony. Since then, Julia Roach, 55, had a sex change and legally changed her name to Julio Roberto Silverwolf.

"It's illegal for a man to marry a man and it should likewise be illegal for a man to pay alimony to a man," Roach's attorney John McGuire said. "When she changed to man, I believe she terminated that alimony."

Silverwolf did not appear in court Tuesday and has declined to talk about the divorce. His lawyer, Gregory Nevins, said the language of the divorce decree is clear and firm — Roach agreed to pay alimony until his ex-wife dies or remarries.

"Those two things haven't happened," said Nevins, a senior staff attorney with the national gay rights group Lambda Legal.

Arnold is considering the arguments. But lawyers on both sides agreed Tuesday that Roach will likely have to keep paying alimony to Silverwolf.

The judge poked holes in several of Roach's legal arguments and noted that appeals courts have declined to legally recognize a sex change in Florida when it comes to marriage. The appellate court "is telling us you are what you are when you are born," Arnold said.

In the Ohio case, an appeals court ruled in September 2004 that a Montgomery County man must continue to pay $750 a month in alimony to his transsexual ex-wife because her sex change wasn't reason enough to violate the agreement.

Roach's other attorney, John Smitten, said the case falls into a legal void.

"It's probably something that has to be addressed by the Legislature," Smitten said. "There is one other case in the entire United States. It really needs to be addressed either for or against the concept of eliminating alimony for that reason."

Roach, who has since remarried, said has been unable to convince state and federal lawmakers to tackle the issue. He said he will continue to fight.

"This is definitely wrong. I have a right to move forward with my life. I wish no harm and hardship to that person," Roach said of his ex-wife. "They can be the person they want to be, to find happiness and peace within themselves. I have the right to do the same. But I can't rest because I'm paying a lot of money every month."

The legal fight is the second transsexual rights showdown in Pinellas County in less than a week. On Friday, transsexual activists from around the country packed a City Commission meeting in neighboring Largo to oppose the firing of City Manager Steve Stanton after he announced he was a transsexual.

Despite the support, commissioners voted 5-2 to fire Stanton.

Star Community Newspapers

Star Community Newspapers: "A Plano resident allegedly sent his male monkey a sexually explicit audio tape while the animal was in custody at the Living Materials Center (LMC), according to LMC staff.

Darwin, a Rhesus Macaque Monkey, was confiscated by animal services on Feb. 21 after police found illegal animals in owner Bobby Denton Crawford Jr.’s home.

Darwin was released back to Crawford Friday afternoon after being transported from the LMC, where the monkey stayed the past month.

Sherry Smith, a spokesperson for Plano Animal Services, said Darwin was given back to Crawford because he agreed to move out of the city.

“Where he is going to be moving, they don’t prohibit them there,” Smith said. “He is complying with city ordinances by removing Darwin from the city.”

Smith declined to comment on where Crawford had moved to. Crawford made at least three visits to the LMC and a handful of tear-filled phone calls requesting Darwin be returned to his custody, according to Jim Dunlap, curator at the LMC.

On one such visit, Dunlap said Crawford handed him a box of Darwin’s toys. Among those toys was an audio tape player with a recorded message from Crawford addressed to Darwin that was of a sexual nature, Dunlap said.

After listening to the tape, Dunlap said Crawford made reference"

STNG ::Students sue school for suppressing anti-gay speech

STNG ::Students sue school for suppressing anti-gay speech

Two Neuqua Valley High School students are suing the school's board, principal and dean for the right to wear anti-gay clothing during school hours.

Heidi Zamecnik and Alexander Nuxoll are seeking a court injunction that prevents the Indian Prairie School District 204 Board of Education, Superintendent Howard Crouse, and Neuqua Valley High School officials from prohibiting them from wearing clothing expressing their displeasure with homosexuality a day after the school allows other students to display messages promoting homosexual behavior.

Neuqua Principal Michael Popp and Dean of Students Bryan Wells also are named in the federal lawsuit filed Wednesday by the students and their parents.

The lawsuit did not indicate what written messages the students planned to wear on their shirts.
Teen reprimanded for shirt last year
During her first two years of high school, Zamecnik, a Naperville resident, did not outwardly object to the "Day of Silence" in which students wear pro-gay messages on T-shirts.

But the current senior was reprimanded during her junior year on April 20, 2006, a day after the national "Day of Silence," for wearing a self-made T-shirt that read "MY DAY OF SILENCE, STRAIGHT ALLIANCE," on the front and "BE HAPPY, NOT GAY" on the back, the suit says.

The "Day of Silence" is an annual event organized by the Gay/Straight Alliance that gives students and teachers nationwide the opportunity to remain quiet all day "to echo" the silence that gay students face all the time, while wearing written messages on shirts, buttons and stickers showing their support of gay lifestyles.

The suit alleges Wells told Zamecnik that her shirt "offended" some students and faculty members and that she must either remove it from her body or leave school. When she refused, her mother was called.

Linda Zamecnik and Wells agreed Wells could alter the shirt's message to read "Be Happy. Be Straight."

But the suit says the agreement was broken when a school counselor crossed out "NOT GAY" in black marker but nothing replaced it.

The suit says Linda Zamecnik discussed the issue with the principal and superintendent, and was told that staff had done nothing wrong.

The suit says Heidi Zamecnik suffered unlawful discrimination, humiliation and punishment by school personnel merely because they didn't agree with her viewpoint.
Students expressing religious viewpoint
Zamecnik claims she was offended when students and staff wore pro-gay shirts on the "Day of Silence" during her freshman and sophomore years, but understood that students reserve the right to express their beliefs. Instead, she remained silent the day after the "Day of Silence," as a means of sharing her viewpoint.

The suit claims Zamecnik noticed during her junior year that many students were intimidated by the pro-gay event and were coerced to support it, prompting her to display her beliefs on a T-shirt a day later.

Heidi's father, Carl Zamecnik, declined comment Wednesday night on behalf of his family, and referred calls to an attorney.

The "Day of Silence" will take place April 18 at Neuqua. On the following day, Zamecnik and Nuxoll, a freshman, want to express through speech and clothing a more religious viewpoint of homosexual behavior. Both Zamecnik and Nuxoll are Christians with very religious beliefs, the suit says.

Zamecnik and Nuxoll claim that Neuqua systematically eliminates any opposing viewpoint of homosexuality. They are seeking preliminary and permanent injunctions barring Neuqua and the District 204 Board of Education from prohibiting them from expressing their religious viewpoints.

Because of Zamecnik's family's "sincerely held religious beliefs" against the gay lifestyle, "they wish to share their conviction that true happiness cannot be found through homosexual behavior," the suit says.

Zamecnik and Nuxoll also are seeking a judgment declaring the school's "Dress Guidelines" and "Racial Incidents" in the school handbook as violating the First and Fourteenth Amendments.

Zamecnik also is seeking other unspecified damages.

Hairdresser fired for stripping

DesMoinesRegister.com

An Ames hairstylist who was fired because she moonlighted as an exotic dancer is entitled to unemployment benefits, a judge has ruled.

Mary B. Messner, 29, worked for Hair Mechanix in Ames from June until shortly after Christmas, when her boss, Diana Tegeler, fired her.

Tegeler testified at a public hearing that while Messner is an "awesome" hair stylist and person, her part-time job made it impossible for her to stay at Hair Mechanix.

"People were coming into the salon and asking where the stripper was," Tegeler said. "That's what it boils down to."

Messner said this week that she took the dancer gig to supplement her income and couldn't find another job that didn't conflict with her hours at the salon.

"It's not necessarily that I love the dancing job, but it gets the bills paid," she said. "I have a family to support, and I have two children. For their sake, I do what I have to do."

She said the strip club has a strictly enforced "no-touch rule" that prohibits contact with customers.

"That's one of the reasons I chose to work there," she said. "I wouldn't be able to go home and look at myself in the mirror before I got my kids up each day if I worked in a place that wasn't like that."

But Tegeler testified that "the whole fire department" was aware of Messner's night job, and the inquiries from Hair Mechanix's male customers upset the other stylists.

"They were very embarrassed that they were even addressed in such a manner - that they were being thought of as strippers," she testified.

Tegeler acknowledged that there was no conflict with Messner's duties at the salon but said the situation could have eventually cost customers.

"I have a reputation to uphold in the business," she said. "I don't want that kind of 'business' also working out of my salon. And I think as a business owner I have that right to protect my business."

As for Hair Mechanix, Messner said she "loved that job to death, and if I was making more money at it I wouldn't have had to look for a second job."

Administrative Law Judge Devon Lewis ruled for Messner. Lewis said there was no evidence the salon suffered financially or in any other way from Messner's choice of part-time employment.

"Although it may be distasteful to the employer, exotic dancing is not illegal, and the dancing job did not in any demonstrable or credible way interfere" with Messner's salon job, Lewis ruled.

That's how police ended up finding and charging 20-year-old Joseph Eric Renno with open lewdness last week.

According to court records:

Renno, of the 300 block of W. Reliance Road in Franconia Township, was spotted taking magazines and clothes into a dressing room at the Wal-Mart off Route 309 in Richland Township on March 1.

The store's loss prevention officer suspected he might be trying to steal things when he walked out of the dressing room a bit later without the merchandise.

She went to check the dressing room and found the magazines and a man's shirt, plus panties and a bra. She also found a thick substance she believed to be semen on the items and the dressing room mirror.

The merchandise, valued at $36, was destroyed except for the shirt, which police kept as evidence.

Another Wal-Mart employee told police the man frequented the store; she knew him as ''Eric.'' Employees promised to call police if the man returned.

He did last Friday.

Police went to the Wal-Mart when employees called, found Renno and took him to headquarters for questioning. He admitted masturbating on the mirror and the merchandise, police said.

Richland Police Chief Larry Cerami said there's no evidence Renno planned to masturbate on more items when he returned to the store.

He declined to answer other questions about the case, including ones about Renno's motive and which magazines he took to the dressing room.

''It's quite an offensive case, and I think we ought to just let the system do what the system has to do at this point,'' Cerami said.

In addition to open lewdness, Renno is charged with disorderly conduct and criminal mischief. He was released after he was charged. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 12, and a district judge could decide then if the case merits setting bail.

A woman who answered the phone at Renno's house Wednesday afternoon hung up when a reporter asked to speak with him.

A manager at the Richland Wal-Mart referred questions about the incident to a corporate spokeswoman.

''Out of respect for our customers and associates, we certainly do not tolerate inappropriate behavior in our Wal-Mart locations,'' spokeswoman Marisa Bluestone said, ''and we've worked closely with our local authorities to help capture this individual.''

Missoula deputy fired for lying about Net use

Missoulian - Missoula deputy fired for lying about Net use

A Missoula County sheriff's deputy was fired Wednesday for initiating sexually explicit conversations on the Internet using a county-owned computer and lying to supervisors about the nature of his online activity.

Sgt. Ty Evenson created an account on MySpace.com to improve “relations between law enforcement and the public,” according to his online profile. Evenson's Web page also identifies him as a “deputy sheriff” employed with “Missoula area law enforcement” whose online intention is to meet “people interested in assisting law enforcement in a confidential one-on-one basis.”
However, an internal investigation allegedly shows Evenson used the popular online social networking Web site inappropriately and to a degree that compromised his official duties and violated Missoula County's electronic communications policy.

“Your documented pattern of activity more closely resembles that of a sexual predator than of a deputy sheriff dedicated to ‘improved relations between law enforcement and the public,' ” a letter of termination from Sheriff Mike McMeekin stated.

According to McMeekin, the offense became fireable when Evenson lied to supervisors and attempted to destroy evidence by deleting sent and received messages on his MySpace account.

“By his actions, he left us no choice but to terminate him,” McMeekin said. “When an officer lies, it affects his testimony in a court of law.”

“Had we asked him and he'd told us the truth, we'd be having a different conversation right now,” said Steve Johnson, director of human resources for Missoula County.

When an officer's credibility is damaged, McMeekin explained, the integrity of a criminal case is compromised, leaving prosecutors vulnerable at trial and prone to criticism from defense attorneys.

“Your conduct in this matter has permanently tainted your future effectiveness as a law enforcement officer,” McMeekin's letter said.

Evenson declined to comment on this story until he can meet with a representative of the Missoula County Deputy Sheriff's Association and decide whether he'll file a grievance and contest his termination. However, Evenson said he disagrees with a majority of the department's allegations and denies lying to his supervisors. Evenson also said he intends to appeal his termination to the Missoula County commissioners.

The investigation began after Undersheriff Mike Dominick received three citizen complaints from women who said they were “disturbed” by Evenson's unorthodox online outreach tactics, and wondered if he really was employed by the sheriff's department. Dominick then installed a Web-monitoring program on Evenson's laptop and began tracking the officer's Internet activity at work.

One of Evenson's “friends,” a 19-year-old Missoula girl, posted a comment wondering what the 44-year-old man was doing online.

“Not 100 percent sure what this is ... you're a cop and trying to better the connection between law enforcement and Missoulians? Is that what's going on here?” the woman wrote.

A three-week investigation revealed that Evenson's browsing criteria on MySpace were set to “swinger” and “women,” and shows he initiated contact with hundreds of women across the country who identified themselves as strippers, prostitutes and porn stars. The messages were frequently sexually suggestive and “occasionally in very sexually explicit language,” according to McMeekin's letter.

Nearly all of the activity took place while Evenson was on duty and using county-owned equipment, software and Internet access accounts.

According to Dominick, the Web-monitoring software showed Evenson sometimes trolled for profiles on MySpace for hours, citing one instance where the officer spent seven hours networking. The software, called Web Watcher, took snapshots of every Web page Evenson visited, then forwarded the images to the company's server. Dominick could then log on at the site and view all of Evenson's Internet activity from the previous day.

When investigators compared the online activity with 9-1-1 dispatch records, they found incidents where Evenson, a patrol shift supervisor at the time, had delayed responding to disturbance calls for up to 10 minutes while he remained logged on at MySpace.

3 sentenced in castration 'dungeon' - Yahoo! News

3 sentenced in castration 'dungeon' - Yahoo! News

WAYNESVILLE, N.C. - Three men accused of operating what police described as a sadomasochistic "dungeon" that included castrations have been sentenced to jail time. Richard Peter "Master Rick" Sciara, his partner of 20 years Michael Mendez, and the man they called their slave, Danny Carroll Reeves, pleaded guilty to felony castration and maiming. Superior Court Judge Dennis Winner said it was difficult to call the dungeon's willing patients "victims," but he said six castrations performed there were certainly a crime.

"I think this is a type of perversion that cannot be tolerated by society," Winner said during a sentencing hearing Thursday.

In plea bargains, Sciara, 62, was sentenced to a year in prison, though he has served all but two weeks of that time. Reeves, 50, was sentenced to eight months in prison, and Mendez, 61, received four months. Reeves and Mendez have already served their sentences and will enter four and two months of house arrest, respectively, and three years of supervised probation.

In exchange for the pleas, the state dropped charges of misdemeanor practicing medicine without a license and conspiracy.

Prosecutors said the men ran a sadomasochistic "dungeon" fashioned from an enclosed carport in 2004 and 2005 at a house in a quiet neighborhood near Waynesville in western North Carolina. Six men, some from as far away as South America, came to the home for castration, while others went seeking other types of body-modification surgery, prosecutors said.

Sciara had worked as a physician's assistant at the Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Center in Topeka, Kan., from February 1976 to June 1999.

Matador's chances of fatherhood hurt by goring - Yahoo! News: "MADRID (Reuters) - If Spanish matador Fernando Cruz ever has children, he'll have doctors at the Valencia bullring to thank after he suffered a double goring.

Cruz, 25, is recovering in hospital after the second bull of Tuesday's corrida caught him in the upper thigh, throwing him into the air, and gored him in the groin once he hit the ground.

Newspapers reproduced the eye-watering bulletin issued by surgeons at the bullring after a two-hour operation and film of the incident was played on the main evening news.

'Fernando Cruz is suffering from two horn wounds of 25 centimeters in length each. One involves the fibers of the abductor muscle and dissects the femoral artery, the other involves the scrotal area and eviscerates both testicles.'

Cruz was sitting up in his hospital bed on Wednesday. Astonishingly, he is expected to be back in action in around three weeks."

Finally, something good about being old.. - Yahoo! News: "BERLIN (Reuters) - A brothel in Germany hopes to capitalize on the growing number of retirees by offering them a 50 percent discount for sex in the afternoon.

The 'Pascha' in the western city of Cologne has introduced reduced rates for sex sessions for clients aged 66 and above -- provided they can prove they are old enough.

'All clients need to do is show us some proof of age,' said a spokesman for the brothel's managing director Armin Lobscheid. 'A 'normal session' costs 50 euros with us -- and we're now paying 50 percent of that for these older guests.'

'We don't earn as much money, but we're establishing ourselves across a broader range of age groups,' he added.

After testing the water with reductions for senior citizens once a week, the Pascha decided earlier this month to offer 50 percent off sex services between midday and 5 p.m every day.

'There's been plenty of demand and people have certainly been taking advantage of the offer,' the spokesman said. 'Older folks are more active than you think.'

The brothel's Web site is keen to stress this point.

'Life begins at 66!' it says in an advert for its 'senior citizens afternoon' next to a picture of a motorcycle rider."

Britney Spears Lesbian Tape Could Be The Latest Internet Scandal - Starpulse News Blog

Britney Spears Lesbian Tape Could Be The Latest Internet Scandal - Starpulse News Blog: "A surveillance tape reportedly showing troubled pop star Britney Spears getting intimate with two female dancers at a New York club has become the latest hot property for internet porn companies.

Spears changed into fishnet stockings and a bikini while partying with dancers at nightclub One on February 12 - and things allegedly got steamy with the threesome.

When a manager at the club discovered damaging video footage of the incident, the dancers were subsequently sacked.

A source tells the New York Daily News, 'The manager said there was a tape of them. Both girls cried about it when they got fired, but they didn't deny it.'

Adds another source, 'If that thing gets on the internet, there's going to be big trouble.'

According to the newspaper, there are also pictures of Spears' bare bottom, which were taken while she was trying on clothes with the dancers."

BBC NEWS | Middle East | Israel recalls 'naked ambassador': "Israel has recalled its ambassador to El Salvador after he was found drunk and naked apart from bondage gear.

Reports say he was able to identify himself to police only after a rubber ball had been removed from his mouth.

A foreign ministry official described Ambassador Tzuriel Refael's behaviour as an unprecedented embarrassment.

The incident, which happened two weeks ago, has renewed calls for a radical overhaul of the way Israel appoints and promotes its diplomats.

San Salvador was Mr Refael's first post as ambassador. He was promoted in 2006 from a technical position in the ministry which had involved several foreign postings.

He was being recalled, although he had not broken any laws, foreign ministry spokeswoman Zehavit Ben-Hillel told reporters.

She confirmed that lurid reports of the incident in the Israeli press were accurate.

'We're talking about behaviour that is unbecoming of a diplomat,' she said.

Israel has been rocked by a recent series of misconduct and corruption scandals, shaking public confidence in the political leadership.

Off-duty NWA worker Spooges on Passenger

Off-duty NWA worker charged with assault for in-flight incident

An off-duty Northwest Airlines employee was arrested Monday after he allegedly touched a female passenger as she tried to sleep and ejaculated on her, according to a complaint filed in federal court in Minneapolis.

Samuel Oscar Gonzalez, 20, of Lakewood, Wash., was charged with simple assault, a misdemeanor, in U.S. District Court, where he made an initial appearance Monday night. He was in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service and was being held in the Sherburne County jail.

The incident was reported just before dawn on Flight 154, a red-eye flight from Seattle to Minneapolis.

Later Monday, Northwest Airlines said in a statement that an equipment service employee, traveling as a passenger on the flight, has been suspended pending a review of the incident. It declined to provide other details, except to say it is cooperating with law enforcement.

Equipment service employees handle customer bags, de-ice airplanes and other tasks.

The flight left Seattle at 12:44 a.m. and arrived at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport at 5:35 a.m. Late in the flight, the complaint says, a female passenger told airline attendants and the FBI that she was in her aisle seat, trying to sleep, when a man moved into the middle seat next to her.

He began touching her in a way that she described as "spooning," the complaint says. She felt her shirt move up her back followed by some additional touching, and then the man got up and walked toward the forward part of the plane. When the woman reached to adjust her shirt, the complaint says, she discovered warm fluid, which she described as semen, on her back, side, clothing and a seat.

The woman notified a flight attendant and identified Gonzalez. The woman was moved to another seat for the rest of the flight and attendants notified Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport police, who met with the woman and detained Gonzalez after the plane landed.

"I've never heard of anything like this happening before," said Pat Hogan, a spokesman for the Metropolitan Airports Commission. "Not in the six and a half years I've been at the Airports Commission."

Chris Kawater, assistant chief of the U.S. Marshals Office in Minneapolis, said that in his 24 years of service, he had never heard of such a case.

FBI agent Michael Cannizzaro, one of two airport liaison agents, alleged in the complaint that Gonzalez had "knowingly and intentionally committed a simple assault." That offense is punishable by up to six months in jail and a possible fine.

The risk of disease transmission in such a situation is remote, said one expert.

"It's not likely to be any risk at all, even if you were looking at the standard agents like HIV, hepatitis B or herpes," said Dr. Michael Osterholm, director of the U of M's Center for Infectious Disease, Research and Policy. He said to become infected, a person would have to have a wide-open fresh cut or have the fluids come in contact with mucous membranes.

Equipment service employees are covered by a union contract. Stephen Gordon, an official with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, declined to comment on Monday.

All new Northwest employees must meet certain federal government and company employment standards, NWA spokesman Bill Mellon said Monday night. But he declined to specify what type of background checks might be performed before ground workers are hired.

Northwest did not explain precisely how it is equipped to handle assaults that might occur between passengers or passengers and crew.

"For security reasons, we don't discuss the handling of in-flight incidents," Mellon said. "But our flight attendants and pilots are trained to handle issues that might arise during a flight."

British porn domain mastermind fights US Government | The Register

British porn domain mastermind fights US Government | The Register

The British man behind the proposed .xxx internet domain believes the US Government has intervened to thwart his plans. Stuart Lawley is fighting a court battle to retrieve the documents he says would prove his case.

Lawley made dotcom millions with web design and hosting firm Oneview.net which was floated then sold before the first internet crash, and has bank rolled the seven-year proposal to have a top level domain for pornography.

His firm ICM Registry was awarded the right to operate the domain but contractual wrangling is more about the conservative Bush administration's connections to the religious right than they are about the contract itself, Lawley told technology podcast OUT-LAW Radio.

"We were hoping to sign our contract which was a standard contract that most other registries have, until the United States Government intervened," said Lawley, who lives in Florida. "They had been lobbied very heavily by the Christian conservative groups here in the United States."

Lawley says that the US Department of Commerce's view of the proposal changed, which filtered down to ICANN. He said that he obtained some government documents under freedom of information legislation outlining parts of his case but that crucial elements were redacted, which means they were blanked out.

"We received documentation that showed clearly what had gone on. Some of the documents were sent in redacted form and we have litigation in the District of Columbia courts against the United States Department of Commerce and the United States Department of State to try and force them to turn over these documents that we allege show the level of interference in the ICANN process," said Lawley.

"The documents show that up to a certain date the Department of Commerce understood our application and were mildly approving of it," said Lawley. "After several high level meetings between Christian conservative leaders and administration and Department of Commerce officials the tone very much changed overnight into 'how do we stop this' and 'how do we kill it'. That's the nature of the documents we are trying to get more detail on."

Lawley says that the .xxx domain is a good idea because it introduces some self-regulation into a $5bn industry that does not currently police itself. His proposal mandates that anyone registering a .xxx domain must tag their content so that it is labelled as pornographic or adult material.

Even if the .xxx site merely points to a .com or .net domain, the content to which it ultimately points must be tagged, he said. He also said that $10 of the $60 annual registration fee will go to a foundation set up by his company to fund child protection online.

HOLLYWOOD - Commercial? What commercial?

Television viewers tend to have a poor memory for ads that appear on sex-laced TV shows. At least that's what a new report from University College London suggests.

In a study of 60 students, ages 18 to 31, participants viewed one of the following: an episode of "Sex and the City," with sexy advertisements; the same episode with nonsexual ads; a G-rated episode of "Malcolm in the Middle" with sexy ads; and the same "Malcolm" with non-sexual ads.

Participants who watched "Sex and the City" remembered significantly less of the commercials than those who watched "Malcolm in the Middle," regardless of the content of the commercial.

The implication for advertisers is obvious, says lead investigator and psychology professor Adrian Furnham, in an e-mail. "Sex does not sell. It may be unwise to try to sell your product either with an explicitly sexy ad or in a sexy program."

"I don't think these results are surprising," adds University of California, Los Angeles, clinical psychologist and sex therapist Gail Wyatt. " Sex and the City' is constant sex -- Sex 101 -- so of course when you get to the commercial your tongue is hanging out. You're exhausted and tired of too much sex."

Rules force man to urinate in bottle in exam - Yahoo! News

Rules force man to urinate in bottle in exam - Yahoo! News: "BERLIN (Reuters) - Exam supervisors at a German university stuck to rules so rigidly that a man with a bladder dysfunction had to urinate in a bottle in front of 120 fellow students because they would not let him go to the toilet.

Overseers at the University of Freiburg in southwestern Germany told the 27-year-old, whose bladder control was impaired in an accident that left him on crutches, that he would be failed if he left the room during the exam.

None of the three supervisors would accompany the man to the toilet despite other students' protests.

Eventually one female student emptied her water bottle so the man could go to a corner of the room and relieve himself.

In a letter written on Wednesday and seen by Reuters, university deputy head Karl-Reinhard Volz apologized to the student, saying the supervisors' behavior was completely unjustified and 'lacking in any normal human sensitivity.'"

Annette Dawn

Hi! I'm Anette Dawn, Twistys Treat of the Month for March. I've been modeling for Twistys for some time now and I've had such great response from all the Twistys members. I'm so excited to be Treat of the Month - I've been wanting to be Treat for so long! Thank you so much to all my loyal Twistys fans!!

I'm from beautiful Budapest, Hungary. If you've never had the chance to visit, you really should! It doesn't have the beaches of California or the vineyards of France, but I think it's the most beautiful city in the world. It gets cold in the winter, but that just means that you get to snuggle up next to the one you love and spend more time indoors - doing things like having sex!

I'm a pretty simple girl and I enjoy the finer things in life. I love nothing more than to hang out and explore the city. I like good wine and good food and being around friends and family. My favorite past-times are spending time shopping or playing with my dog! I like to go out and have fun on the weekends and stay in and relax during the week. That way I get the best of everything.

As for romance, I like men who are old-fashioned in the sense that they look after and respect me. I'm a romantic at heart, so I really need to swept off my feet and like to fall in love. I like the flowers and chocolate - the whole deal! I also like guys with a wild side, who aren't afraid to let loose and have a good time. I'm not one to spend a Saturday indoors watching a movie! I like to hit the clubs and dance and have fun.

Sexually, I'm still a bit shy, so I need someone who can coax out my wild side! Don't get me wrong - I love to show off my body and love sex, but I like a guy who is really into me and really into opening me up sexually. I guess I can just be shy when I'm still getting to know someone. But once I feel comfortable, then you can't hold me back!

Love, Anette xoxoxo

Tampontification! Chlorine-Free Feminine Care from Seventh Generation

Tampontification! Chlorine-Free Feminine Care from Seventh Generation: "Women’s shelters in the U.S. go through thousands of tampons and pads monthly, and, while agencies generally assist with everyday necessities such as toilet paper, diapers, and clothing, this most basic need is often overlooked. You and I may take our monthly trips down the feminine care aisle for granted, but, for women in shelters, a box of tampons is five dollars they can’t spare. Here’s some good news: you can help us contribute to rectifying this situation by making a virtual donation below!
For each virtual donation, Seventh Generation will send a pack of organic cotton tampons or chlorine-free pads to a shelter in your state."

Paris Hilton's sex brag

Paris Hilton's sex brag: "Paris Hilton was apparently overheard bragging about her earnings from her infamous homemade sex tape at an Oscars party.

The blonde heiress claimed to be 'embarrassed' and 'upset' when ex-lover Rick Salomon leaked a tape of them having sex and was always adamant she had not profited from it.

A source at a post-Oscars party claims to have heard Paris laughing and boasting with Rick about making $1 million from the official release of 'One Night in Paris', according to the New York Post newspaper.

Paris' representative, Elliot Mintz, has confirmed Paris did speak with Rick at the party, but insists the sex tape was not mentioned.

Elliot revealed Paris went home with another former flame, Stavros Niarchos, saying: 'All is well on the home front.'"
