Landlord threatens to release sex tape if rent isn't paid - Northwest Florida Daily News

A Panama City Beach condominium owner is accused of using the threat of a sex tape in a failed attempt to collect past-due rent from a tenant.

Panama City Beach Police Department officials said Thursday that Jill Marita Munger, 31, of Lynn Haven, tracked down her tenant shortly after the victim moved out. Munger told the victim that she had hidden cameras in the condo and promised to post on the Internet video of her having sex. Munger also threatened to sell the video and publish the victim’s Social Security number if she didn’t pay up, investigators said.

The victim, whose name was not released, called police and an undercover sting was set up, according to a police department news release. Police watched as Munger handed over the tape in exchange for what she thought was the money owed, then arrested her on an extortion charge, according to the release.

The tape, however, was blank, and investigators determined Munger had not made a sex video.

Wouldn't it just have been easier to take her to court for the money?
